Missouri massage therapists will all be required to renew licenses by January 31, 2011. That means you must complete at least 12 hours by the end of 2010. If you are Nationally-Certified, that renewal date will be determined by the date of your original certification, and you are required to complete 48 hours every 4 years. Please see sidebar to the right for more information.
In October of 2007, we were approved as a Continuing Education provider by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, Provider #450530-07.

MTIM may co-contract with various professionals around the area to teach. We are open to all disciplines, from Sportsmassage to Shiatsu, Reiki to Hakomi, or Dual-Role Ethics to Native American Ways. If NCBTMB requirements are met, their courses will be available under our approval.
We have a wealth of potential instructors throughout Missouri. We would like to hear from you if you are ready to share your knowledge and experience. Courses may be scheduled at our recently-expanded facility, or in your own area. Let us share our resources to help you get out there and share your wisdom!

Among our regular offerings, we host Sports Massage classes with Janene Sun, Director of AMTA-MO Sports Massage Team. Our series of sports classes began with Level 1 in late June, 2009, and continued with Level 2 in November, 2009.
Level 3, June 27-29, 2010, will be held in Columbia. 8am-5pm. Registration deadline June 25, 2010!
Each 24-Hour course will be cumulative to provide a 96-Hour Certificate of Completion in Sports Massage. You may take them in any order, or one at a time.

Ethics: Standard V, Dual Roles & Boundaries, will be held August 23/24, 2010. Mirra Greenway & Sharon Troth will teach. Take either class or both, at 3 hours/$45 each. Mon class; 6-9pm/Tues class; 12-3pm. Registration deadline August 13, 2010!
Aromatherapy and Herbology classes are available in the Boonville area by Ann Starr Harmon of www.celestialbody.com, along with her Missouri-grown herbal body care line.
Ongoing classes in Traditional Chinese Medicine/Five-Element Theory and Practice are provided by Kim Fite, D.C. This Eastern system of Physiology ncludes hands-on use of muscle testing for overall balance.
They are open to students for both CE and non-CE, but CE credit classes are priced at a higher rate, $250 vs. $125. She also offers a discounted "reviewer rate"; after completing her class 3 times, there is no charge! A book is required for $27, available from Doc Kim.
